Fellowship Trained

Dr. Ward received his Fellowship training in sports medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Ward’s interest in athletics and sports medicine in particluar made this an ideal fit for his future in medicine. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Ward completed his 3-year residency training in family medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago. This aligned with Dr. Ward’s interest in primary care for individuals and families. Today, Dr. Ward is able to apply his years of experience to  serving patients and athletes within his local community.

Educating Patients

We believe strongly in educating patients to partner with them in their care and recovery. Giving them the necessary knowledge and tools to pursue and understand their health is a key factor in our approach to providing care to patients and their families.

Board Certified

Dr. Ward is a board-certified physician and a highly esteemed member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, Dr. Ward has cultivated a background in Primary, Urgent, Family, Geriatric and Home Care, and Sports and Occupational Medicine. He received his medical degree in 2001 from the Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago after completing one year of postgraduate studies in microbiology and immunology at the University of Illinois. Prior to this, Dr. Ward earned a Master of Science degree in biology from Tennessee State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science from Fisk University. Dr. Ward’s background has propelled him toward his success in medicine.

Dr. Michael Ward is a family practice physician and expert in primary care and sports medicine. It treats amateur and professional athletes, as well as active people of all ages. In addition to the health and occupational medicine of men, Dr. Ward has a special interest in musculoskeletal problems, such as arthritis, fractures and ligament damage. He has considerable experience with prolotherapy or the reconstruction of non-surgical ligaments, which is a form of treatment for chronic pain. He believes that wellness is achieved through exercise, a balanced diet, physical exercise and continuing education, and believes that prevention plays a key role in returning patients to an active and healthy lifestyle as quickly as possible.
